With all the different types of jacks out there, it can be easy to overlook the fact that a number of different tasks require a very particular task or else you run the increased risk of failure. Motorcycles, by design, are not balanced the same way that four, and even three, wheeled vehicles are which makes lifting them up and suspending them in the air. To help dispel this confusion, we have put together a list of the 3 top rated motorcycle floor jacks, breaking down their strengths, weakness, and even niches.
PowerZone 380047 Hydraulic Motorcycle/ATV Jack
PowerZone is an interesting brand in that it is owned by a wholesaler who purchases foreign products and sells them in the US. This may lead to some QC issues, depending on the wholesaler and factory in question, but it also leads to some of the best-priced motorcycle jacks that we saw. In this instance, that trend happens to continue as that the PowerZone 380047 is easily the least expensive hydraulic floor jack on our list and is even nearly the same price as scissor motorcycle jacks. Specifically, the PowerZone 380047 is the most powerful motorcycle lift that we saw, and it does not matter what mechanism the competitor uses.
With a maximum weight capacity of 1700 lbs, the PowerZone motorcycle lift is stronger than the next closest competitor by a solid 200 lbs of lifting capacity. Of course, you do not have to worry about putting much effort into the task yourself as the PowerZone motorcycle floor jack also happens to be a hydraulic motorcycle lift as well. Not only is it a hydraulic motorcycle jack but the PowerZone 390047 uses a foot pump and foot brake with numerous locking positions, so you do not have to take your hands off of the t-bar. When you combine the ease of the hydraulic action with the strength of the lifting capacity, it is easy to imagine using the PowerZone hydraulic motorcycle lift for more than just two-wheeled vehicles.
Because of this increased versatility, we personally think that the PowerZone 380047 is also the best ATV floor jack on our list too. One thing to consider is that the PowerZone hydraulic ATV jack has a fairly low minimum clearance of 4 ½”. While this may not seem like much, it is actually the tallest maximum clearance on our list, so be mindful of that if your bike has been lowered. In terms of the other direction, the PowerZone hydraulic ATV floor lift provides an industry standard 14 ½” of maximum lift. This is nothing to really get excited over but neither should it be the reason that dissuades you from going with this motorcycle hydraulic floor lift.
- Is a hydraulic motorcycle floor jack
- Has a maximum weight capacity of 1700 lbs
- Is a less expensive motorcycle floor jack
- Has a solid maximum height
- Has multiple locking positions
- Is fully collapsible
- Has the tallest maximum clearance
OTC 1545 Motorcycle Lift
While OTC may not be an American made motorcycle lift, that should not necessarily be seen as a knock against it since it is still owned by a company specialized in professional tools and precision. Specifically, OTC is owned by Bosch Automotive and is a brand which specializes exclusively in equipment meant to be used in a commercial mechanic shop. Because of this, you might be wondering why the OTC 1545 is not our top pick, but it has to do with the fact that both this and the top pick are nearly identical in performance. The big difference then comes down to OTC inflating their price due to their brand name prestige.
Keep in mind, this is definitely as good if not better than our top pick, but falls just a tad shy in some important categories. For instance, the OTC motorcycle jack has a solid weight capacity of 1500 lbs, but that is still 200 lbs shy of our top pick. That said, this is definitely the best motorcycle jack if you have a bike that has been lowered aftermarket. With a minimum clearance of only 3 ½”, the OTC motorcycle hydraulic jack is the best low profile motorcycle jack that we came across.
Of course, the minimum clearance is not the only characteristic of height relevant to a motorcycle lift, but thankfully, the OTC motorcycle floor jack has you covered there too. At a towering 16 ¾”, the OTC hydraulic floor lift easily provides the highest maximum height out of any hydraulic motorcycle floor jack on our list. On top of providing as much clearance as you could reasonably ask for, the OTC motorcycle lift also offers extra wide skids for the heartiest of hogs.
The skids on this hydraulic motorcycle lift come in at a lengthy 17” which allows for even the widest motorcycle with ludicrous aftermarket additions to still fit on this jack. To further accentuate the OTC floor jack’s ability to access the motorcycle, it has a removable handle that provides for 360-degree access when pre-positioning the bike.
- Has the tallest maximum height
- Has the lowest minimum clearance
- Has a 1500 lb weight capacity
- Is a hydraulic motorcycle floor jack
- Has a removable handle
- Has locking, foot-release caster wheels
- Is the most expensive motorcycle floor jack reviewed
Black Widow Cruiser Touring Motorcycle Jack Lift Stand
Black Widow, like many of the products on our list, is actually the brand of another company, but this time, it is a US company that specializes exclusively in motorcycle and ATV products, Rage Powersports. That said, this is definitely one of the more minimal options on the market as this is the only motorcycle lift we reviewed that does not feature a hydraulic action. Instead, we think that the Black Widow is the best motorcycle scissor jack that we came across. While this may make the motorcycle floor jack a bit more inconvenient, it does still have its particular settings in which it is the preferred type of motorcycle lift.
First, the fact that the Black Widow motorcycle floor jack does not have a hydraulic system means that Rage Powersports does not have pay as much to make it and can pass those savings down to you. As such, it should come as little surprise that the Black Widow motorcycle scissor lift is also the best cheap motorcycle jack that we found. That said, you should not consider anything about this motorcycle lift’s performance cheap, because it is surprisingly good at a fair number of tasks. The only real downside is that the Black Widow only has a maximum weight capacity of 1100 lbs which will definitely remove its ability to lift certain custom bikes.
By far the biggest selling point of the Black Widow motorcycle floor jack is that it is also the most portable motorcycle floor jack that we found. First, this scissor jack only weighs 32 lbs which is significantly less than any of the hydraulic motorcycles jacks we reviewed. Granted, you do actually have to physically carry the Black Widow scissor jack, but it is not as if you would just roll the hydraulic floor jacks the entire way. You would have to physically lift them at some point too, and even the folding ones present a much larger profile than the Black Widow.

- Has a maximum height of 16 ¾”
- Has a minimum clearance of only 3 ¾”
- Made of steel
- Has rubber padded contacts
